The College of Pharmacy at the University of Kentucky invites applications for a tenure-track, open rank faculty position. This position was established to focus on the genomics / genetics / epigenetics of alcohol and substance use disorders to support collaborative, unifying research that ultimately improves human health by predicting risk, developmental progression, persistence, cessation, and relapse, as well as tailoring effective therapeutics using genomic approaches.
The duties of this position include developing and maintaining an active research program in genomic science and methodology, preferentially in the area of alcohol and substance abuse. This position will also be responsible for developing collaborations to integrate genomic / genetic / epigenetic science into practice-based and clinical research, as well as advancing the knowledge of pharmacogenomic / genetic / epigenetic science both locally and nationally. The faculty member will also secure extramural funding to support their research.
This open-rank faculty position will be instrumental in participating in the professional and graduate teaching programs of the College of Pharmacy and other colleges as appropriate. Providing service to the Colleges and University through committees and other assignments, as well as mentoring graduate students and junior faculty as appropriate based on rank will also be responsibilities for this position.
