Research Fellow/Postdoctoral Researcher

A Research Fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Ryan S. Funk in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Kansas Medical Center. The selected candidate will conduct independent and collaborative research investigating the clinical pharmacology of protein-based and small-molecule therapeutics used in the treatment of autoimmune disease. Research techniques will include both pre-clinical and clinical research methodologies, including: mammalian cell culture, molecular pharmacology, protein chemistry, enzyme immunoassay, bioanalytical assay development, blood sample processing and pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic analysis. The selected candidate will be given the opportunity to present their findings at relevant scientific meetings and will contribute to the training and development of undergraduate and graduate students.
A fellowship will last two years and upon successful completion, the fellow will receive a certificate of completion of a Fellowship in Academic Pharmaceutical Research signed by the Fellow’s sponsor, Chair of Pharmacy Practice and the Dean of the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy
Preferred candidates will have a record of research accomplishment as reflected in publications in peer-reviewed journals and presentations at scientific meetings. Experience working with cell culture models, animal models, human subjects research, and bioanalytical techniques for pharmaceutical analysis.
