The USC School of Pharmacy, the US News and World Report #1 ranked private pharmacy school in the country, invites applications for a fulltime, 12-month, tenure track faculty position at the assistant, associate or full professor level to conduct research and teach in the Department of Clinical Pharmacy.
Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or a Pharm.D., or other related advanced degree and demonstrate strength in research and teaching in pharmacoepidemiology, patient-centered outcomes research, health economics or other related fields. Duties and responsibilities for this position include mentoring and teaching in the department’s graduate and the School’s Doctor of Pharmacy programs, developing interdisciplinary research collaborations within the School including with the Center for Advanced Drug and Disease Modeling, and with affiliations across the University and our greater academic community. The successful candidate at the associate or full professor level should have demonstrated capabilities in grant solicitation, a track record of publishing in peer reviewed journals, national or international recognition, and excellence in teaching and advising students.
Building from our established programs in the Department and across the school, the USC School of Pharmacy offers unique opportunities for interdisciplinary research in pharmacoepidemiology. For example, within the Department, we have strengths in in preclinical and clinical discovery, pharmacometrics and pharmacogenomics. Additionally, the USC School of Pharmacy Department of Pharmaceutical and Health Economics (DPHE) is home to collaborative scholars in health economics, health policy, pharmacoeconomics, comparative and cost-effectiveness, drawing on an array of healthcare databases, including large health insurance claims databases, electronic medical records data, and large-scale survey data. In addition, DPHE faculty have pioneered the development of microsimulation models for the study of long-term health, economic, and epidemiological outcomes.
