School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SPPS) is seeking eight tenure track (open rank) faculty members at the assistant, associate, or full professor level to seed the development of a new research hub: UB Drug Discovery, Development, and Evaluation Hub (DDDE). This new hub will provide leadership and creative approaches to support core innovations in drug discovery/development as well as the development of a translational therapeutic core to support clinical pharmacology, policy development and evaluative clinical sciences.
DDDE Core Areas:1. Drug Discovery and Design

3. Quantitative Systems Pharmacology
4. Translational Therapeutics
Research specialty/focus areas:Medicinal and biological chemistry; quantitative chemistry and molecular modeling; target identification; biologically based drug delivery; pharmaco-engineering and materials science; protein engineering; quantitative systems pharmacology; clinical pharmacology; health outcomes; policy evaluation.
SUNY Empire Innovation SupportWithin the DDDE Core, there is an opportunity to support professorships (one in: Drug Discovery and Design and one in: Drug Delivery) with funding from the prestigious State University of
New York Empire Innovation Program.These two professorships will be focused on protein engineering or other closely-related discipline in protein-based therapeutics and biologically-based drug delivery approaches.
RankThe rank for these positions will be commensurate with experience.
Scholarship/Research Responsibilities:Faculty members will develop and engage in independent and collaborative scholarly activities in the relevant area of expertise. Collaborative scholarship is strongly encouraged among faculty colleagues within the school and across the university.
Teaching Responsibilities:Faculty members will contribute to one or more of the school’s degree programs (PharmD, Ph.D., MS, or BS) based on area of specialization and alignment with course delivery needs.
Service Responsibilities:Service activities include service to the Department, School, and University (i.e., through active participation on committees), as agreed to with the Chair.
