The SGC-UNC is looking to hire a postdoctoral associate interested in developing their skills in Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology. The postdoctoral associate will join a multidisciplinary team working to develop small molecule drug leads within the READDI Antiviral Drug Discovery Center. The postdoctoral associate will develop structure-activity relationships for the viral enzymes targets and design new analogs to improve potency, selectivity, and drug-like properties. All research will be conducted in an Open Science laboratory to facilitate rapid publication, presentation, and sharing of data. The SGC-UNC, a research center within the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, is the US site of the Structural Genomics Consortium, a non-profit, public-private partnership that currently includes eight of the largest pharmaceutical companies and academic research laboratories at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, University of Toronto, University College London, the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, and Goethe University Frankfurt. The SGC works on pre-competitive projects to discover new drugs and create new approaches to better understand and cure diseases. The SGC is committed to Open Science, sharing knowledge, data and reagents, which has led to a collaborative network of more than 250 international partners.

Minimum Education and Experience: PhD in Organic Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, Chemical Biology, or a related field.
